What type of photo should I select for the Heirloom Recipe Print?

The best background photo for the Heirloom Recipe Print is a vertically-oriented solo portrait of the chef. Even if the image is small, you can scan it at a very high resolution to make it useable in this format. See below. If your favorite photo includes multiple subjects, our graphic designer may decide to use a horizontal orientation for the print so that all subjects fit into the print. Feel free to email us multiple photos so that we can select the one that will work best, but make sure to name the photo according to the recipe name.

How should I scan the photo?

Please scan your photos at at least 300dpi (600dpi or higher is ideal) on a flatbed scanner and, if possible, crop the image according to how you want it displayed. Save the image as a .png or .jpg file and name it with your last name and the recipe name. Sample: krenshaw_grandmajeannie_pecanpie.jpg Once your photo is scanned and named properly, email it to If the file is too large to attach to your email, you can send it via Dropbox, Google Drive or Hightail.  If you are sending multiple images, simply add a version number to the end of the file name.

How do I ship multiple Heirloom Recipe Prints using the same format to one address?

In this case, you're ordering multiple prints using the same format (all canvas or all framed). Simply select your format, then select your desired quantity. You'll then be prompted to enter your shipping address, the recipe and instructions. We've built in a flat shipping cost per print, so we will give you a discount if you go this route - you will see that reflected at checkout.

How do I ship multiple Heirloom Recipe Prints using the same format to one address?

If you wish to order multiple versions of the same recipe and photo print, but you prefer to mix up the formats, (i.e. one framed, two canvas prints), you'll have to add these two items to the cart individually and you will be eligible for a discounted rate if you order multiple copies of one format. You'll be prompted to fill out the shipping address and recipe information each time you add an item to the cart. The second time you are prompted, if you are using the exact same photo and recipe combination, simply fill out the address portion and type, "same as previous order in cart" in both the ingredients and instructions fields.

How do I ship the multiple prints of the same format to different shipping addresses?

You will simply add each item to your cart so that you can provide three different shipping addresses. As long as the recipe prints are the same for each shipment, you may type, "same as previous order in cart" in both the ingredients and instructions fields. Alternatively, you may enter a different recipe per print. You may also complete three separate complete transactions if you would like to keep your orders completely separate. If you are emailing multiple images for multiple projects, you may email all photos to, but please make sure you name each image according to the corresponding recipe name.
